The first step is to keep the filtration system in good condition to ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your extractor hood, both in the exhaust and recirculation versions.
There are two types of hood grease filters:
The grease filter protects your hood by trapping oil particles. Grease filters made of aluminum or stainless steel require periodic hand washing with a neutral detergent or in a low-temperature dishwasher (*). A paper grease filter should be changed every month, depending on use.
Activated carbon filters are attached for recirculating hoods and trap odor particles in the air. They should be changed every 3-4 months. Long-life filters have a longer lifespan: they need to be changed every two years.
Simple precautions will help you keep your hood in perfect condition.
