Why is a kitchen hood or extractor hood used?
A hood is essential for fresh breathing in the kitchen!
Its main function is to improve air quality by eliminating burning fumes, unpleasant cooking odors, and steam, which is harmful to people, furniture, and walls.
Maintenance of the hood's grease filter:
The first step is to keep the filtration system in good condition to ensure the longevity and proper operation of your hood, whether it's an exhaust or recirculation version.
There are two types of hood grease filters:
A grease filter protects your hood by trapping oil particles. Grease filters made of aluminum or stainless steel require periodic hand washing with a neutral detergent or in a low-temperature dishwasher (*). A paper grease filter should be changed every month depending on use.
Activated carbon filters are included for recirculating hoods and trap odor particles in the air. They should be changed every 3-4 months. Long-life filters have a longer lifespan: they need to be changed every two years.
Simple precautions will help you keep your hood in perfect condition.
