There are two types of hood grease filters:
A grease filter protects the hood by trapping grease particles. Grease filters made of aluminum or stainless steel must be washed periodically by hand with a neutral detergent or in the dishwasher at low temperature (*). A paper grease filter should be changed monthly, depending on the intensity of use.
Activated carbon filters are attached to recirculation hoods and trap odor particles in the air. It should be changed every 3-4 months. Long-life filters have a longer lifespan: they need to be changed every two years.
